I'm glad you liked. The whole story process was quite strange.

I was thinking about the Dr. Who Christmas special (which looks to be Dickens oriented) earlier in the day, and then I was trolling a website with Christmas stuff (for the funny fic) and saw this globe.

And before I could say "Don't shake..." a huge plot bunny dropped out of the sky and into my lap. I tried ignoring it and writing the funny story, but it kept wriggling its nose and demanding carrots. So I finally gave in. And once I started writing it just kind of wrote itself. (Marley's ghost perhaps?)
