Is it Time to Hold a Wake....

for Gwen, Rhys, PC Andy, Rhiannon and Johnny, Mica and David?

I say yes. And you can't bury characters without a good eulogy.

So feel free to stand up in front of the crowd and leave your best memories of one or all of these characters.
The eulogies can contain 'truth' but nothing overtly nasty please, (you have AGA for that). After all, you shouldn't speak ill of the dead

I'll start with a little something about PC Andy:

Oh Andy, we hardly knew you. I thought I did until you morphed into some strange homophobic character in CoE.
You were so adorable and sweet and I did like that you kicked some ass in CoE. But those final remarks?
Not buying them. Anyone who wasn't fazed by spooky-dos, wouldn't care about someone's sexual orientation.
Some horrible outside influence took you over and made you say those things.
I forgive you; you are not responsible for acting out of character.
Rest well.

CoE is like a textbook for emotional manipulation - the plot doesn't make any sense, it's just button-pushing - cry here NOW! I'd already given up on DW before CoE, can't wait to see if Moffat gets us back to the brilliance that was The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.

Moffat! Me too! I hope he rescues DW from the angstfest its been the last two seasons. Mediocre stories, silly plots, and yes, button pushing emotions.

Ditto TW. That's probably why as much as I like Ianto, I was absolutely dry eyed during the BIG death scene. My cheap emotion button was apparently manfunctioning that evening (and I cry during Hallmark commercials).

As I have said elsewhere - the plotting in CoE was so obvious RTD might as well have used actual anvils. The moment Ianto and Jack had that laboured and ludicrously out of character "couple" conversation, I knew Ianto was doomed.
