When Aaron came to live with him making 'lifestyle choices' that The B didn't approve of this was referring to The B finding out that Aaron was gay. Aaron is in his late 40s so that would have been around 1984.
Remember way back in Chapter 17, when Ianto was talking to Stephen about his 'bi-ness' and asks him what his father's reaction was and he says his father "has mellowed with age." Oh the foreshadowing!
New Years (next chapter)is going to be very interesting for a lot of reasons.
