This time I can spread the blame around. Not only do I still blame [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted for getting me started, but [livejournal.com profile] iantojjackh joined in the fun and demanded I add Jack to the illustration for Cardiff Alien Care & Control, because Jack would certainly want to fly with the bunnies.

So here's Jack in his WWII RAF plane (don't ask me what type it is) wearing his RAF uniform helping to teach the bunnies to fly,(as if Cardiff weren't dangerous enough when Jack's driving).

More Flying Lessons

You know, I only have 400+ photos from my vacation I should be working on. Not to mention two more stories for love_bingo that I have to finish in the next two weeks.

This is all [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted 's fault.  We had an exchange in the comments of my fic, Cardiff Alien Care & Control, about Myfanwy and the bunnies. She was very concerned that Myfanwy would try to teach the bunnies to fly. I posited that Tosh could build them little planes to fly around in. She said she was having visions of them zooming around the Hub.

I took that as a challenge.

Now if anybody has a good shot of the interior of the Hub - I'd sure like to have it for future photoshopping fun. I couldn't find anything that would work. So I used my old standby pic and with the magic of technology I give you

Flying Lessons

(Yes, some-bunny is feeling a bit silly tonight).

Writing
I discovered something pretty nice tonight. I was over on my Media Fire account (where I have story pdfs) and Ianto's Journey has 1,386 downloads. The last download was December 27th of 2011.  I never would have imagined that people would still be reading the story. (Treachery is running a very distant second place with 328 downloads).  Kind of makes me want to write something BIG, because its been drabble city around here lately.

Truth is, I have been writing more than just drabbles! I signed up for Classic TW Big Bang - though it's only a mini-bang for me. Still at 9,000+ words, its been a bit of work. First draft is finished, but it needs some polish and tightening up and a little fact checking. Stories won't be posting until mid/end of February, which will work out fine.  I'd like to get something written for Redisourcolor - so I'm selfishly hoping there aren't enough posts for voting next Thursday because making that deadline will be nearly impossible.

Ida
Ida has been upset with me lately. We had a bit of an ear cleaning disaster http://cathealth.livejournal.com/2364801.html  last week and then she found out I was on some other cat communities bragging about Teddy being a very smart cat.  So she made me promise to show you that she is also a smart kitty.

Ida always helps me with the Sunday crossword puzzle - mostly by laying on it and trying to chew on the pen. But sometimes she works on the easy one all by herself.

Just some new pics here of my furkids. I worked from home today - I'm in charge of evaluating some new vendors for my employer and the proposals are massive so I needed some uninterrupted time to read them through.  Teddy and Ida helped, but their criteria were a bit cat-centric.

Teddy doesn't care if the cost estimates are soft, just so long as the binders are as well.

And Ida, bless her furry little feet, doesn't get that 'that word doesn't mean what you think it means.'

I haven't accomplished much in the way of writing lately. I have an idea for a Christmas crack-fic, but it needs manips - hopefully I can pull off something that's not too embarrassing! Of course I'm going to work on the manips first, because that's the hardest part for me. And I have a TW Classic Big Bang to start working on. And drabbles of course. Thank goodness for those - they keep my TW brain from rotting away from lack of use.

Life has been busy. I had my big holiday party last weekend - so yeah, I had to clean my house for it. Clean house is clean. Ida and Teddy were both little angels at the party. Teddy did not repeat last year's fiasco of eating salad from the buffet - the tranquilizer actually seemed to work this year and he just hung out and sat in various guest's laps. Ida visited with friends and got some tummy rubs, so she was pretty happy as well. I have enough food left over to have a second party - I think I'll be having two of my best friends over sometime over Christmas weekend, so at least I won't have to buy food.

I've also mailed all my holiday cards and wrapped presents so I'm pretty much done with the holiday hustle. My computer is dying a slow and painful death, so I'm going to have to contend with that in January. But there is no way I am going into an electronics store anytime this month.

Work - don't ask. I am obviously being punished for something I did in a past life. My boss is taking a well deserved vacation through the end of the year and of course, all sorts of shit blew up last week. I will be getting out my metaphorical mop and pail cause it looks like cleanup is up to me. One issue is very serious and I'll probably be needing hip boots to sort it out. And Xanax. And perhaps a bodyguard. It's going to be ugly and I think I'll end up being lauded by some and demonized by others. Merry Christmas, bah humbug.

We had snow yesterday! Just a dusting, but I love snow. It's all gone now, and its pretty warm out. I got a picture of Ida watching the snow as well as a few other kitty shots. These were taken with my phone so they are not the greatest quality.

Look! Its snowing!                                                             I'm thrilled!

One more of each of them:

I'm exhausted from chasing the snowflakes!                  Teddy wrestles with his snowflake toy!

That's all for now!

Apparently there was a problem with the poll for this story contest not being linked correctly, so voting has started over.

If you voted yesterday/this morning you will need to vote again!

I stole this from  xrai_namere. Not surprisingly I sound like someone from the Great Lakes region. And I did live in Western NY for a number of years. BTW - its milk, not melk.

Teddy Boo discovered a new way to get in trouble.  He figured out how to open the freezer. My guess is he got on top and pushed the door out.

I walk into the kitchen one morning and the freezer door is open and he's in there, trying to open a box of Tofutti Cuties (he loves tofu ice cream). In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have stood by the freezer door, asked him if he wanted ice cream, and when meowed, opened the freezer and taken out the cuties (he only gets the wrapper with a little ice cream on it).

I was terrified the door was going to close on him and the results would be less than funny. So I was trying to think if I had any twine somewhere when I spied a quick solution.

Yep, my bicycle lock.  I've since replaced this with some heavy duty velcro - so essentially he'd have to push out the freezer and refrigerator doors, and he isn't strong enough (I hope) to do that.

And since Ida would pout if I didn't include her, she's finding the summer nights that are only around 70 degrees a bit chilly for her. So she has decided that my modem makes a perfect heating pad.

And I wanted to thank everyone who has made a donation to Don't Bully my Breed - its up to $73 just from LJ readers.  And I'll be matching your donations dollar for dollar. It really is appreciated.

Yes I did!   All by myself!  I am very proud of me!!

So let me know - can you see the calendar and the tag cloud at the top (it looks ok on my friend's page, but not in journal view)?

Can you read everything?

The picture is nice, no?

Any other comments, suggestions?

Meme snagged from [livejournal.com profile] a_silver_story

1 - Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”. Third picture no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together.

5 - Post it with this text as a header and TAG the friends you want to join in.

Not going to tag, but here's what I got.

Not bad for a item of clothing for sale and ......a Tony Blair quote of all things.

Ida and Teddy got a lovely Scratch & Climb toy from their Aunty D just before Christmas. With being sick over Christmas weekend and really busy between Christmas and New Years, I finally got time to assemble it today for them.

A good time was had by all. (As always, click the picture to bigify).

Thank you and head bumps to our Aunty D!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Saturday I gave [livejournal.com profile] thebuttonontop a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). In September I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] blackbird_song (-10 points). In April I helped [livejournal.com profile] rootesie see the light (8 points). Last Wednesday I broke [livejournal.com profile] missthingsplace's X-Box (-12 points). Last Tuesday I punched [livejournal.com profile] iamshadow in the arm (-10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (26 points). For Christmas I deserve a wedgie!

Sincerely,
aviv_b

I've been nice!

This was inspired by the silly LJ Writers Block about who your pets would invite to a birthday party and what they would serve.
  http://aviv-b.livejournal.com/50199.html

In the interest of full disclosure - here is a picture of Ida & Teddy's gefilthy fish cake with tuna filling BEFORE I put the candle on it. Yummy looking isn't it?

They both got new fuzzy beds that Teddy LOVED (the ones that Teddy won't use now - Ida was never crazy about them).

and a new scratching post - that's used almost exclusively by Ida (Teddy would much rather trash my carpeting).

And here's another picture of each of them at the party. Ida has her favorite catnip toy and Teddy is all ready for the Cubs game.
