Family Medical Stuff - The Good! (Or in the immortal words of the Doctor - Everyone lives!)
First things first: My sister-in-law and my father both had cancer scares over the last few weeks. The good news, my SIL does not have cancer. She had some major surgery and has some serious medical issues that still need to be addressed but the news is much better than first thought.
My Dad's PET scan was completely negative. It does not appear that the tumor on his pancreas has spread in any way. And that tumor is shrinking with chemo. We still don't know what the spots on his lung are (from his recent X-ray) but he will be having a bronchoscopy in week or so, and if that's not definitive, then a needle biopsy. So not out of the woods, but again, much better than expected.
So really, I got Everything I wanted for Christmas.....with just a little exception.
One Sick Meowmy - The Bad
The long weekend started out with such great promise. I had Friday off and got all my normal weekend chores out of the way. Saturday went to see "The King's Speech" and had dinner with friends. I highly recommend the movie - everyone in it is fantastic.
Then I went home just in time to watch the exciting Doctor. Who Christmas Special and...got spectacularly sick. Sick like you wouldn't believe. Sick, like I couldn't watch the show. I did catch the first 20 minutes or so but after that - let's just say I was otherwise occupied.
So I've spent the last 24 hours either in bed, laying on the couch, sleeping and feeling miserable. I was able to take care of the cats, and did get on the Internet for a bit this morning, but almost all other plans went out the window. Did manage to finish my read through of Ianto's Journey and its all formatted for PDF- and once i get back to work I'll have the software to make a PDF. I'll let you know when its ready and where its posted.
The Furry
The kitties have been soo good. All I've been able to do is feed them and clean their box a couple of times. No energy for playing catch or feather chase or any of the other games they like. And I haven't had the energy to put together the Climb and Scratch Toy (two activities they certainly excel at) that Santy Claws left earlier this weekl.
They've snuggled and cuddled and head bumped and purred and napped and given kitty kissies and lickies to me the whole time. No whining, no fighting.....are these my cats? They've been sooo good.
Yeah its late, and I'm up (having slept about 18 out of the last 24 hours) and I'm still tired. So going back to bed - hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
