PROMPT: Written for tw_unpaired, #30 -  After Jack hires Gwen, he tells Tosh and Ianto to prepare an orientation packet. They take to the task with gleeful abandon. 

 

A/N: A non-canon look at Gwen’s first day at Torchwood. No Suzie and the Team already knows about much of the aliens and their technology that we see later in series one and two. Some events from series one and two are discussed as if they have already occurred.  

 

They completed the rest of the Torchwood weapons and went on to the section concerning the most common aliens they encountered.

The ABC’s of Alien Hunting

Always use force as a last resort, not all aliens are dangerous

BASIC UNFRIENDLY ALIENS

                                   

WEEVIL

Threat Level: high

 

Characteristics: mildly telepathic, possible time sensitivity, overall intelligence thought to be limited

 

Weapons: Sharp Teeth, Faster and stronger than humans

 

Defenses: electric shock, brute force, weevil spray which incapacitates but does not kill    

 

   BLOWFISH      

Threat Level: high

 

Characteristics: Highly intelligent, can speak English, can breathe air & water

 

Weapons: Stinging Yellow Spit, Stinging Sarcastic Humor

 

Weaknesses:  Susceptible to electrical shocks, and human vices (drugs, sex and fast sports cars)

 

 

 

FAERIES 

 

Threat Level:  OMG Really High

 

Characteristics: Supremely intelligent, native to Earth, can take two forms, a small sprite or human sized monster

 

Weapons: Can manipulate the weather, kills by asphyxiating victim with rose petals

 

Weaknesses:  None known, though generally avoids human contact unless it is disturbed or its attempts to find Chosen Ones are impeded.

 

 

 
CYBERMAN

Threat Level: Planet destroying capabilities

Characteristics: Cybernetically augmented humanoids. No real independent thinking, all emotions removed.

 

Weapons: Possess hand-held weapons, can generate electrical arcs.

 

Weaknesses:  Can be killed with gold glitter dust, or rendered incapacitated by contact with gold. Not susceptible to gunfire, may be destroyed with explosives.
