FREDDIE & ELOISE

The owner of these cats died unexpectantly and there isn't any family to take them. Some friends are taking care of the cats, but this is a temporary fix at best.

They are around 10 years old, and don't have any health problems. They are good natured and friendly. Please boost the signal and if anyone is interested they can PM me.

Here are some pictures, I know they aren't the greatest but you can see they are pretty chill cats:

ETA: The cats have found a foster home, but they are still looking for a permanent home. So don't hesitate to call if you are interested.

Can you help? These cats really need a foster/furrever home ASAP. This community helped find homes for two elderly cats whose owner had died that were in a similar situation, so I'm hoping you can work another miracle. Please boost the signal. Note that Chicago Cat Rescue covers all medical costs for their fosters and can help with food and litter if necessary.  Thanks so much!

We Received No Offers to Foster!
Please help us find a new foster home for these sisters!
Must Move Date is this Thursday –  June 21st!

The search continues for a HUGE hearted human to rise to the challenge and save these 3 bonded sisters from being boarded - sadly in a cage.  Not the quite the cozy & loving accommodations they have been used to for the last 3 years in their foster home – but it will be all we can offer them come Thursday if we are unable to find them a new foster.  Finding new foster homes is a challenge unto itself, but finding a foster home for 3 cats is definitely NOT easy. Keeping these sisters together would be a dream come true, but being that their move date is Thursday we are open to all options and will split them into two foster homes if need be!

Please help us find them a new foster home!
The girls aren’t picky – a spare bedroom or home office would be delightful if you have one?  Please spread the word and ask everyone you know if they could foster these sisters!  (or one or two!)  You can also help spread the word via Facebook – we will post this plea on Chicago Cat Rescue’s tonight.

*As always, Chicago Cat Rescue provides all the medical care for our cats and will provide food and litter if needed.

Thank you kindly for your help!!!

2 CATS IN URGENT NEED OF A HOME OR FOSTER HOME!

These two cats are living alone in a condo in the suburbs. Their elderly caretaker passed away in October. A neighbor has been taking care of them the best she can. The caretaker’s daughter has such severe asthma that she can only spend mere minutes near the cats.  Her mother was an animal lover, and after she passed, in lieu of flowers, they asked that donations be made to a large rescue group in Chicago. The daughter has been desperately searching for a home for these cats, but nobody has been able or willing to take them in…including that large Chicago rescue group.  Time is running out for them as the daughter can no longer continue to pay the bills at the condo.
They have to be out in the next two weeks!

Here is the letter we received from the daughter:

These cats belonged to my mom who passed away 10-31-10.  I am desperately looking for good homes for them.  My mom was a genuine animal lover and rescued these cats as kittens from a snow storm many years ago.  Right now, they remain in her condo and  their basic needs are being met by a neighbor in her building.  I live 50 miles from her place.  Also, I have the unfortunate task, with no one to help me, of emptying out her condo and selling it.  I am severely allergic to the cats and I cannot begin this process until I find places for the cats so I can have it professionally cleaned.  I am running out of time because I am having to continue to pay for the condo and that can't go on much longer.  I either have to get it on the market ASAP or rent it out-neither can be done with the cats there.  I can't even get started until they are gone.  My mom would have given her life for those cats.  Within a few weeks, I will have to put them down if I can't find homes because I will have no other choice.  I have been searching for over two months now-using internet networking, fliers, email, word of mouth-and I think I have contacted most shelters in the area and have been denied.  It is already a very emotional situation for me losing my mom and now I have to face the possibility of having to euthanize her cats if I can't find good homes for them.

Both cats are older and healthy.  Cat #1 in photo, "Red" is 11, male, about 17 lbs, neutered, and has claws.  He was last at the vet 08/10 and everything is up to date and I have copies of the vet records.  He loves adults and is desperate for human contact. . Cat #2, Lucky, He is 13, has claws, is about 16 lbs, male, neutered), and was last at the vet in 2008.  I have his records from his last visit too.  This cat is not aggressive but is very afraid of strangers.  He spends his time hiding from people since my mom has been gone.  He does not know me because I hardly went there when my mom was alive because of my allergies and asthma.  Please forward this info to anyone that may be able to help me.  It is vital that I not only find homes for them but that I know they are well cared for and happy.  That is what my mom would want and I would rather see them euthanized than mistreated.  Thank you so much for your
help.”

If you know of anyone who can take these boys in either temporarily or permanently, please contact Cindy @ (773) 203-0215 or cindy@virtuallyhomechicago.org
