From Think Progress:

CNN Taps Unhinged Conservative Blogger Erick Erickson As Regular Political Commentator

Finally, finally, they got rid of Lou Dobbs.  No more birthers and immigration nutfuckery.

But just when you thought it might be safe to turn on CNN, they hire a new nutjob Commentator who is a racist, sexist, homophobic, teabagger.  He's a veritable trifecta of hate.

Gee, what ever happened to the old CNN - the network that never veered too far to the left or right?  Guess those straight forward anchors just weren't exciting or sexy or controversial enough.

Aaron Brown - I miss you so. And for the record, I thought you were plenty hot.

Is anyone surprised that following the election of our first black President in the United States we see this happening?

From the Southern Poverty Law Center:*

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The number of extremist groups in the United States exploded in 2009 as militias and other groups steeped in wild, antigovernment conspiracy theories exploited populist anger across the country and infiltrated the mainstream, according to a report issued today by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Antigovernment "Patriot" groups - militias and other extremist organizations that see the federal government as their enemy - came roaring back to life over the past year after more than a decade out of the limelight.

The SPLC documented a 244 percent increase in the number of active Patriot groups in 2009. Their numbers grew from 149 groups in 2008 to 512 groups in 2009, an astonishing addition of 363 new groups in a single year. Militias - the paramilitary arm of the Patriot movement - were a major part of the increase, growing from 42 militias in 2008 to 127 in 2009.

* The SPLC actively pursues justice for victims of discrimination and hate crimes through the civil courts. While much of their work involves neo-Nazi/Skinhead groups, they have also brought suits on behalf of racial. religious and ethnic minorities, GLBT community, immigrants legal and illegal, disabled students, juvenile offenders against employers, local officials, and educational institutions.

I’ve been extremely lax in putting up reviews of my most recent and not so recent theater and opera experiences. So for the sake of actually getting something up in the same season they were performed in, I’m going to do a couple performance round-ups with just a few thoughts about each performance.

This round-up includes
Timeline Theater's Master Harold & the Boy and She Danced, as well as Victory Garden's The Blue Door.
