A Ianto’s Journey verse story in two parts (and a Prologue)

 What you need to know – After Jack leaves with the Doctor, Ianto moves back to London to help with the rebuilding of Torchwood One. He meets Aaron Hamilton, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines. They become lovers and later partners. They both have empathic abilities (and are both a bit over the top with things being orderly). Jack returns to Earth two years later and ends up the head of Torchwood One. 

Other info that will help to understand the story - Ianto uses a voice synthesizer app on his cell phone to communicate since his voice was damaged during the battle of Canary Wharf. Aaron’s father is a Brigadier at UNIT (who was in charge of the cleanup at Canary Wharf) and his mother was an Israeli intelligence officer working for UNIT early in her career.

A/N: Written as a standalone this story could be viewed as a ‘Turn Left” story from my Ianto’s Journey verse (au). In IJ, Jack leaves with the Doctor and doesn’t return for several years. Ianto is devastated and eventually moves to London to be part of the newly constructed Torchwood One. This story would fit in at roughly Chapter 48.

What would have happened if Ianto had contacted John Hart instead of moving? Recall that Hart visited earth to seduce Jack away from Ianto and ended up seducing them both. Don’t remember?  So Jack’s gone, Ianto’s in bad shape and contacts Captain Hart to help him find Jack….

Here's the timeline I used for Ianto's Journey. I have ages of characters at various times to make sure I didn't have characters doing age inappropriate things (like a 70 year old woman becoming pregnant - I almost did this at one point).
